Friends of Hurricane Creek Annual Meeting

Friends of Hurricane Creek Annual Meeting

 and Pot Luck Dinner

It's time once again for the Friends of Hurricane Creek annual membership meeting and pot-luck dinner. This event is open to the public and all comers are welcome to bring guests. This is a family event and no alcohol served.

This year we have a special treat. Our long standing board member, Nancy Callahan will be there to sign her new book "Hurricane Creek,(Personal Accounts and Collected Lore)" It a fabulous book of stories and anecdotes of people who once lived and still do live in the Hurricane Creek watershed. Community members who have fond family memories of youth, found and lost within the banks of our beloved creek. There will be a limited number of books available for sale at the event. You can purchase your own at Ernest & Hadley Bookseller, 1928 7th Street, Tuscaloosa, AL.  $30
Hurricane Creek:  Personal Accounts & Collected Lore by Nancy Callahan now available
This book takes you into the living rooms of elders who share stories of their elders raising them in the creek. I strongly recommend this to anyone interested in the real stories of the rich history of Hurricane Creek and the work that has been done to keep it alive and Running Free, Full of Life.

The event starts at 6:30 PM, Jan, 14 and Canterbury Chapel Episcopal Church and Student Center. Follow the link to a map and directions to the church.

From 6:30 to about 7 we have a meet and greet with dinner served at that time. After a few announcements and presentations, I as Creekkeeper, I will give my brief annual report to the members and guests.

There's no better way to express your love and concerns for Hurricane Creek than to come out, meet and support the only group in existence with the sole mission of preserving and protecting our
Crown Jewel,
Hurricane Creek
